The Griffin Family In Family Guy: A Discussion

Seth MacFarlane’s Family Guy was created on January 31st, 1999. The show had been cancelled three times before it went on air again in 2005 with new episodes. Family Guy follows the Griffins, a tight-knit, but sometimes insane, family who live in Quahog. Peter Griffin’s wife Lois lives with him and their three kids, Chris and Meg are teenagers, while Stewie is a baby. Peter Griffin and his wife Lois live with their three children, two of whom are teenagers – Chris, Meg and the baby Stewie.

Peter Griffin is an outspoken father who doesn’t mind saying what’s on his mind, even if it isn’t the right time. He is a worker at “Happy-Go-Lucky Toy Company” and dreams to be more than an assembly-line nobody. Peter’s problem is a lack of common sense and good judgment. However, he compensates for this by being kind. He’s always trying to have fun. Peter is well known for being an alcoholic. He spends a lot of time with his friends drinking at the Drunken Clam, a local pub. He has a nice house and a decent life with his family, all while maintaining a steady income that allows him to support a middle-class household.

Lois Griffin, a modern-day housewife, finds time to run errands and teach piano, as well as “avoid the daily attempts on Stewie’s life”. Lois Griffin’s parents were against her marrying Peter, as he was not of the same class. Lois gave up her comfortable life to marry Peter. She has never looked back and is very happy with the decision she made. Lois always picks Peter up no matter how often he falls. She is usually the voice that Peter can’t hear before it’s too late.
