A Review Of The Film Bend It Like Beckham

I was expecting a movie about soccer and entertainment with lots of experiences, aspects, and stories about women’s sports, and love for soccer. It didn’t live up to my expectations, but I still enjoyed the film.

Bend it Like Beckham a comedy-drama that highlights Indian traditional values and contemporary experiences in Britain. The main messages are to never give up, to strive for your goals in life and to not listen to those who try to stop you from achieving them.

Jess has a conservative family that won’t let Jess play soccer because of her gender. Joe coaches a women’s soccer team in the Hounslow Harriers. Jules, who is 18 years old, loves to play the game. Joe accepts Jess as a member of the team. Jess lies and tells Joe her parents approve. The plot of the film is relevant and believable. It develops an interesting story with tension throughout Jess’s life. The plot, while easy to follow is believable given that Jess follows her Indian tradition. They were usually of little or major importance in the entire film. Jess and Jules were played by Parminder Nagra, Keira Knightley, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Mr Bhamra(Anupam Kher), Paula(Juliet Stevenson), Pinky (Archie Panjabi), and Joe. These characters all play a vital role and each one adds to the film’s story with their unique personalities and problems. However, not all of them were as convincing or interesting in their scenes. Jess’s and Jules’s passion for football and their handling of family problems made them effective characters in the film. Joe was less emotional when dealing with his soccer team, his past and other situations. His role as a result, was not as effective.

The film was mostly enjoyable. I think it’s a good film for me because I like soccer. The storyline of the film was good and matched with Jess’s experiences. Her family and soccer were among the problems she faced. The different angles of the story and the way the film was produced were good. In some ways, the movie could have been made better. The movie could be improved by avoiding cliches, and instead focusing on a creative, new approach to the storyline. This would make it more interesting for the audience.

This film is a must-see for parents and children alike. It teaches them how to work together, be friends, and support their dreams. It would be great for teenagers as they will see different perspectives and actions.
